The Ask Wizard is split into the following steps, each of which will be accompanied by additional instructive text.
- Create a title with guidance.
- Describe the details of the problem.
- Describe what was tried and what results were expected.
- Tag Entry
- Duplicate question detection based on title and tags. The user is required to confirm there are no matches to proceed.
- The two sections of the question are merged and presented for review
How do I get started with the Ask Wizard?
If you are a first-time question-asker, the Ask Wizard will be displayed when asking your first question on Stack Overflow.
If you’ve already asked a question, the Ask Wizard will not automatically be displayed for you when asking a question. To use the Ask Wizard, experienced users can use the toggle and create questions through the Ask Wizard.
Will I always see the Ask Wizard?
No. After you ask your first question, the Ask Wizard will not automatically be displayed when asking a new question. However, you can always toggle back to the Ask Wizard to ask new questions.
